We’re all looking for that magic bullet to take out fat once and for all, but as more and more research is done, many of us are beginning to think that maybe such a thing doesn’t exist. Garcinia Cambogia (Hydroxycitric Acid) is a small fruit that looks like a pumpkin that is native to Indonesia and the Southern parts of Asia. Recently it has become a popular ingredient used in weight loss supplements due to a positive clinical study done by Creighton University.
Works in clinical trials. The study found that it resulted in a reduction of body weight, but but did not cause a change in hepatic and testicular lipid peroxidation.
The way that Garcinia Cambogia or Hydroxycitric Acid (HCA) works is that it blocks a key enzyme used in fat storage called Citrate Lyase. HCA also suppresses appetite by increasing serotonin levels. Serotonin acts as a neurotransmitter in your brain which helps to regulate moods. Low serotonin levels can make a person feel depressed or cause them to have anxiety which can lead to emotional overeating. Garcinia Cambogia was found to increase the levels of serotonin in the brain.
It would seem that you could just take Garcinia Cambogia and lose weight, without additional exercise or dietary changes.
As always, the fastest road to weight loss is through making healthy eating choices combined with a workout regimen wherein more calories are burned than consumed. But for those out there that are feeling like their metabolism is “stuck”, Garcinia Cambogia could be a good way to kickstart or reignite the weight loss process.
