In one clinical trial, 60 people were selected that were “slightly overweight.” Participants in the clinical trial were given either the white kidney bean extract (445 mg) or a placebo on a daily basis. This was administered prior to a meal (containing carbohydrates).

The clinical trial found that the slightly overweight participants that had been given the white kidney bean extract did experience more loss in weight, than those taking the placebo.

By observation, the participants that had received the white kidney bean extract also maintained a healthy lean body mass.

The clinical trial findings were published in the International Journal of Medical Sciences in 2007.
